Nubia Red Magic 8 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, 165W charging

Nubia Red Magic 8 Pro now focuses on the Red Magic gaming brand. After missing its December 16 launch date for unknown reasons, the company has scheduled a launch event for December 26. Nubia has teased the key features of the Red Magic 8 Pro. Now Nubia has confirmed the details of the upcoming phone and especially the battery.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

Based on data from ARM, Qualcomm claims that the CPU is 35% faster overall (compared to the original 8 Gen 1 CPU) and 40% more efficient (which has not yet been tested). The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 also uses the new Adreno 740 GPU.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 chip is based on the new 4 nm node and carries a 1 + 4 + 3 core architecture with Cortex-X3 Prime, Cortex-A71, and Cortex-A170, and cortex-A510. In terms of graphics, it has the latest Adreno 740 based on ARM IMMORTALIS GPU with fast ray tracing.

Design and Display

Nubia has designed the Red Magic 8 Pro from scratch. It now features a boxy design with flat edges. The left rocker and volume rocker house the power key while the left side houses the game shoulder button and red-accented slider. The phone will be available in transparent and matte black colors.

On the front is a 120Hz flat AMOLED screen with a symmetrical 1.48mm bezel. The selfie camera is hidden beneath the screen. The panel is from BOE and is continuous with notch and hole mounting. This allows the phone to reach a 93.7% screen-to-body ratio.
